Common questions about Surplus Edition

What is Surplus Edition?

Surplus Edition curates overstock and surplus goods from various sources. We offer specialty items, equipment, and uncommon finds at fair prices.


Where do the products come from?

Products come from various suppliers in British Columbia – restaurant overstock, small-batch productions, manufacturer surplus, and specialty wholesalers. Sources vary by item.


How often do you add new items?

We update inventory weekly as new surplus becomes available from our restaurant partners. Products sell quickly and may not be restocked once sold out.


What are the different Edition?

We organize surplus into four categories:

Edition 01 — Specialty goods (ingredients, beverages, small-batch items)

Edition 02 — Table & home (ceramics, glassware, textiles, containers)

Edition 03 — Tools & equipment (kitchen tools, organizational items, practical goods)

Edition 04 — Curiosities (decorative objects, novelty items, seasonal finds)


What does “short-dated” mean?

Short-dated items are food products approaching their expiration date. We clearly mark these items with the expiry date. They’re safe to use before the date shown and are priced accordingly.


Why don’t you restock sold-out items?

Our inventory depends on what becomes available from our suppliers. Items are typically one-time offerings – once they’re gone, they’re gone. This is why we organize inventory into rotating Edition rather than maintaining a fixed catalogue.


Can I return items?

All sales are final unless items arrive damaged or materially different from the description. Food products, short-dated items, and promotional goods cannot be returned. See our Refund & Return Policy for details.


What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and debit cards through our secure payment processor.


How much is shipping?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and order size. We offer free shipping on orders over $75 within BC, and over $125 Canada-wide. See our Shipping Policy for details.


Can I track my order?

Yes. You’ll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships. You can track your package directly through the carrier’s website.


Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us immediately if you need to change or cancel an order. Once shipped, orders cannot be modified or cancelled.


Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within Canada only.
